Family Music Room opening in Moreno Valley on Friday

Friday is the grand opening of the Family Music Room in Moreno Valley. Mark Nemetz, who you might know from local alt-country outlet Bucksworth, is helming this new venue, which teaches music lessons by day and houses shows on the weekend.

The Nemetz family, with three generations helping to launch this new venture, is hoping to build the local music scene and give people a place to play and watch performers where the sole focus is the music.

Plus, it's all ages and only $5 to get in.

Friday night's opening features the best of SoCal singer/songwriters. Be sure to check out Riverside indie folk goddesses Summer Twins on Saturday. Open mic night starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. Sunday, Family Music Room, 22445 Alessandro Blvd, Moreno Valley, 951-653-3272, $5, all ages.

With individual and group lessons, performances for students to show what they have learned with pride and a venue focused solely on the music with shows every Saturday night with local and some well known bands…all very talented…this place is great. Teaching both children and adults to expand their minds and character through music the Nemetz family is a wonderful down to earth family. Working together they are building kids with confidence and strengthening our community. I take great pride in taking my children for their lessons and feel fortunate that such a place has been established here in Moreno Valley.
